NZ Day 21

May 26
Day- Rainy Day walking around Thames and Coromandel, pizza and beers
Night- Coromandel Holiday Park

The weather was indeed nasty.  Grey skies with near constant rainfall and howling winds turned the water along Highway 25 a frothy grey soup.  Even so, we rounded about 100 points with absolutely perfect right barrels peeling down the line.  If only we were mice; they were about 8 inch tall tubes.  We inched slowly around each bend in the road, many littered with rockslides, trees and other debris from the storm.  In the early afternoon we pulled into the sleepy, boutique town of Coromandel.  Many of the shops had closed or were near closing, so we stopped in at a local restaurant and treated ourselves to a gourmet pizza and some locally brewed beers.

Our road out of the valley was flooded in the morning

Zoom in, try to find the face.  Carved or natural?  We don't know either...

 Grinding finally
