Day – Waipu (surf)
Night – Waipu Holiday Park
Lazy day hanging around the park. We all suited up for the first time and jumped in the water. It was a fun day, light offshore winds, and a very mellow beach break. There were some nice walls to be had, but the wave had very little power (despite head high sets). It was a good introduction to cold water surfing, especially for the girls. No pics were taken as we were all in the water at the same time. We elected to stay one more night and try to surf again in the morning.

U'i - Self Portrait after her first cold water, first wet-suit - first NZ surf experience. I would say it went OK....
Fuel for the road. Fresh Bok Choy, Kumara (sweet potato), rice and egg
If you like to collect shells (or haul them around in a van), this is your beach.
As far as the eye can see......
And where the shells stop, there are other interests to stop and pickup....like kelp
If you look closely, you'll see a perfect set of waves marching across the sunset
JV was feeling a little crabby
